Songstress Meli’sa Morgan Returns with New Album “Love Demands” on July 13th, 2018 | LISTEN!

Powerful urban diva Meli’sa Morgan returns with her first full-length offering in over a decade with Love Demands

From the artist who launched her career in brilliant style with Prince’s “Do Me Baby,” Meli’sa Morgan impressed the R&B community by reaching number one on the R&B charts while remaining in that position for almost half a year. In her prime during the mid-eighties to mid-nineties, Morgan’s magnetic soprano voice piloted several other hit singles – the crossover “Still In Love With You” and in a duet with Kashif on “Love Changes,” amongst others. It has been awhile since her last CD in 2005, I Remember, that featured the single, “Back Together Again” with Freddie Jackson. Yet to whet the appetite for her fans, Morgan released some dance floor jams of recent, including the funky pulsating disco of “So Good.”

Still in tremendous vocal form after all these years, Love Demands (Goldenlane Records) proves Morgan’s musicality mixes her classic R&B vibe and some other wonderful surprises. For instance, “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart,” the Bee Gee remake, has a modern country feel. Another cover, Tom Jones’ pop smash, “It’s Not Unusual,” transforms into a British soul groove ride. Morgan’s remarkable skills with the blues translates on Sam Cooke’s top five single from 1962, “Nothing Can Change This Love.” Even Morgan vocally maneuvers through the edgier pop track, “No More.” Finally, Morgan nails Aretha with “Never Loved A Man (The Way I Loved You).” Bonus Tracks, “Fool’s Paradise” and “Do Me Baby” are included.
