Nathan East Drops Single “Serpentine Fire”

Nathan East and a star-studded cast revisit one of Earth, Wind and Fire’s greatest Billboard Top 100 hits

Two years removed from his Grammy-nominated, self-titled debut release, Nathan East returns to honor some of urban music’s greatest achievements with the upcoming release in January 2017, Reverence (Yamaha Entertainment). The latest single from this multi-instrumentalist and composer, “Serpentine Fire,” pays a terrific homage to one the greatest funk/R&B ensembles, Earth, Wind & Fire.

This fresh look “Serpentine Fire” is decorated with chants, Middle-Eastern synthesized breaks and contributions from Eric Clapton, Phil Collins and current members of E.W.F. (Phillip Bailey, Verdine White and Ralph Johnson). Twenty five years after the original version was released, East and friends have nailed this funky track in a more than glorious manner.
