PROJECT GRAND SLAM’S NEW YORK CITY GROOVE OUT NOW DIGITALLY & FEATURING GUEST VOCALIST KAT ROBICHAUD FROM “THE VOICE”
YOU’RE INVITED TO JOIN THE GROOVE MOVEMENT!!
Acclaimed bassist/composer/bandleader Robert Miller has been busy with his band, Project Grand Slam, playing soulful, high energy contemporary jazz with an equal mix of funk and fiery rock elements. PGS is back in action now with Robert’s new song, the recently released New York City Groove, together with a video for the song that has garnered over 20k views in the first few days since its release. Continuing to keep the sound eclectic and current, Robert enlisted 2013 “The Voice” semi-finalist Kat Robichaud to lend her rock n’ roll/glam flavor to the song and the video.
PGS is inviting everyone to join the “Groove Movement” by creating their own individual “Groove Move” video and uploading the video to any of their social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) using the hashtag #GrooveMovement.
Robert and PGS have also teamed up with Kat to produce a follow up cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Fire’, which will be released in August. An album of new material by PGS is scheduled for release in September.
In 2007 Robert Miller formed Project Grand Slam. PGS’s debut album, Play (Cakewalk Records 2008), was produced by Grammy winner Frank Filipetti and featured the radio hit The Captain Of Her Heart, a cover of the Double song, with internationally renowned guest vocalist Judie Tzuke. In 2012 PGS released its follow up album, Spring Dance (Cakewalk Records). The album featured five of Robert’s new compositions, including the title track, which was another radio hit and garnered only positive reviews. Next came the 2014 release Twenty (Cakewalk Records), a compilation CD featuring 16 of Robert’s best compositions recorded over the last twenty years by Project Grand Slam and The Robert Miller Group.
In addition to bandleader Miller, PGS consists of Joel E. Mateo on drums, Nathan Cepelinski on saxophones, Ben Sher on guitar and Marcello Casagrandi on keyboards.
Playing on August 5 at The Iridium in NYC.
