Aretha Franklin Hits #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart with “Rolling In The Deep”

Can the Queen of Soul still make hit singles? You better believe she can.

Music legend Aretha Franklin has apparently done it again. Her new single “Rolling In The Deep,” a cover of U.K. singer Adele’s big hit has charted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs Chart for the week ending Jan 3rd, 2015. It has slowly been taking its time to get to that position on the chart, but to see the Soul music legend sit atop on that status once again was refreshing.

According to Wikipedia, Ms. Frankin had a total of 20 #1 R&B Hit Singles, the last one dating back to the year 1985 with “Freeway of Love.” The hit cover “Rolling In The Deep” can be found off her latest release album “Aretha Franklin Sings The Great Diva Classics.” If you haven’t heard her version of the Adele cover yet, take some time out on New Years Eve and pump this one up.
