Saxophonist Elan Trotman & his Band Releases New CD “#LiveandUncut”
Boston, MA | Sept 3rd, 2014 – Barbadian-Born sax-man Elan Trotman has cooked up yet another tropical treat with his latest release “#LiveandUncut“. Since releasing his best-selling album “Tropicality” last March, Elan has been busy appearing on major jazz festivals and cruises, as well as picking up some side-man work with artists that include Jonathan Butler, Earl Klugh, Keiko Matsui and Brian Simpson.
“#LiveandUncut” is Elan’s 6th album to date, and is being released on his very own Island Muzik Group label. The 10-song project is deeply rooted in Caribbean Jazz Fusion grooves that feature sax and steel pan, and it showcases Trotman’s band, which was formed shortly after their time at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
In addition to the 8 elegantly written original compositions, the group also pays tribute to jazz legends Sonny Rollins and Chick Corea with exciting arrangements of “Don’t Stop The Carnival” and “Spain”.
