Nathan Best, Grammy Winner, former O’Jays member, launches Jazz Gospel CD, “Center of My life”

PRLog – Sep. 8, 2014 – WASHINGTON, D.C. — Life has come full circle for Grammy award winner, Nathan Best. After having a successful singing career with R&B Greats like the legendary O’Jays and Levert, Nathan Best has returned to his roots in Gospel music. Recently, Nathan launched a solo career, and his contemporary gospel CD “Center of My Life,” will debut and be released on September 9, 2014. Nathan’s velvet voice will again hit the airwaves.

Nathan Best career started with voice lessons at the tender age of 3 years old in Miami. After his family moved to Cincinnati, singing in church every Sunday and touring with his family group, “The Best Singer” is where you could find Nathan Best. Later, Nathan and close friends, formed the New Born Light band. These groups gave Nathan a taste of Theater and Coliseum life, and he knew it was destiny.

Nathan then took on the role of MD for R & B singer: Miki Howard, while still singing for the R & B group: Levert. Next, came his career as a member of the O’Jays.

In 1999, Nathan returned to gospel and joined the famous group: The Fairfield Four, and the group was inducted into the Smithsonian Institute and (3) Halls of Fame. These honors included The Gospel Music Hall Of Fame, United In Group Association Hall of Fame, and R & B Gospel Hall of Fame. Nathan and the other members of the group have been the only African Americans ever to win Album of the Year at the Country Music Awards(2001).

Nathan sang the lead vocal track along with the group’s bass singer, the late Isaac Freeman, for two songs in the hit comedy movie, “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou” (which starred George Clooney and was released on December 18, 2000).

After a break from the industry, while he pursued his calling to the ministry, Nathan Best returns to the Music Industry as a solo artist, armed with a tantalizing array of songs.

Although Nathan Best, likes all the songs, he admits that “Thank You, God Forgave Me and Our Love Song are his favorites. Nathan says, I am immersed with “God Forgave Me”…. I feel that many people will be able to identify with the lyrics of this song, for the simple reason that, ALL of us have made mistakes in our lives.”

The CD title, “Center of My Life” is a full eleven song album that is packed with original gospel ballads and songs that offer contemporary jazz that bring about renewed hope and inspiration for the listener.

The songs soothe the soul and transcends to a cross-generational audience. “The Center of My Life” will be in stores on September 9, 2014.
