Shemekia Copeland Scores Blues Music Award Nom. as Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist | “Lemon Pie” Nominated for Best Song

ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER AWARD NOMINATION FOR BLUES QUEEN

SHEMEKIA COPELAND

On the heels of the announcement that 331/3,
her current release, is up for a Grammy (Best Blues Album), comes word
that she’s received a Blues Music Award nomination as Best Contemporary
Blues Female Artist.  ..And “Lemon Pie,” the lead track from that album,
written by John Hahn and Oliver Wood, has been nominated for a BMA as
Best Song.

Remember Shemekia’s wisdom when you’re
on the cusp of opening that mini bar and extracting a $12 beer or $14
container of nuts: “Don’t do it!!”
