Artist Receives Kudos On Single

(Washington, D.C.) – November 16, 2011 – The song, “Someday We’ll All Be Free”, has been an anthem of hope and freedom.  One of Donny Hathaway’s most popular songs, the inspirational tune has recently been recorded by Gospel artist Robert E. Person.  Produced and arranged by University of The District of Columbia Director of Jazz Studies, Allyn Johnson, the updated version of the song is given a jazzy feel all while keeping the integrity of the Hathaway original.  The track is currently catching the attention of Gospel music fans as the song has recently charted in the Top 100 on the Mediabase Gospel chart.  Initially leaping 112 places, the song currently sits at the #88 spot.

Robert has been hearing some great things about his rendition of the song.  ReviewYou.com says, “Person glides along with his silky smooth tones and easily makes the transition to booming chest voice when needed.  Each verse is delivered as an almost personal testimony from Person encouraging the listener to, “Never mind your fears / Brighter days will soon be here,” and other uplifting sentiments that hardly sound preachy or cliché.”  Bob Marovich of TheBlackGospelBlog.com says, “Person covers Donny Hathaway’s classic ‘Someday We’ll All Be Free,’ which is well done.”  The track is currently in rotation on almost 200 radio stations nationwide.

Person has recently performed at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Dedication, on Rejoice In The Word with host Bishop George Bloomer on The WORD Network and Babbie’s House, hosted by Christian Artist Babbie Mason.  At the moment, Person is preparing for his appearance in the musical Black Nativity.  Written by Langston Hughes, Black Nativity is playing at the H Street Playhouse in Washington, D.C. from December 3 – 31, 2011.  More information about Robert E.
