Stellar Award Nominated Trumpeter, Syreeta Thompson Releases In His Presence During Annual Gospel Celebration 

Noted musician will conclude the Stellar Award Weekend with her sophomore album debut, Sunday January 16

Nashville, TN —Stellar nominated, celebrated trumpeter Syreeta Thompson will conclude the Stellar Gospel Music Awards with the pre-release concert for her sophomore album, In His Presence (TL Music Group/Select-O-Hits).  On Sunday January 16, Thompson will be joined by mentor, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Dwayne Woods, and emerging artist Claude Deuce.  Hosted at Living Word Baptist Church (5380 Hickory Hollow Pkwy, Antioch, TN 37013) doors will open at 5pm; the concert will begin at 6pm.  VIP tickets are $25 and will include reserved seating, and a gift bag; general admission is $10.  Both packages will include a copy of the CD and can be purchased at www.TrumpetLady.com.

Thompson is no stranger to the music industry as she has studied under the world renowned Wynton Marsalis, and one of the most recognizable contralto voices in Gospel, Dorinda Clark-Cole.  The talented instrumentalist has toured with Beyonce, Lauryn Hill and Tito Puente; plays weekly with the Love Fellowship Choir under the leadership of Bishop Hezekiah Walker; and is currently the Department Chair of Instrumental Music for Cicely Tyson School of Fine and Performing Arts.   Although, Thompson has numerous accolades, she is humbled to share her gift with the world. 

Recently signed to Select-O-Hits with a distribution deal, Thompson’s latest album will hit stores and online retailers February 22.  The project will be a mix of her Jazz roots combined with her spirit for Gospel.  While Thompson is a talented trumpet player she will also lend her voice to some of the albums already popular tunes including her second single “You Still Love Me” a powerful exhortation of God’s love, and the upbeat, churchy, New Orleans inspired “Church Medley”, among others.  Other notable tracks include the title track and single, “In His Presence” featuring Dorinda Clark-Cole and “Make a Way” with Dwayne Woods.
