“Shoutin’ Down The Aisles” (2-CD Gospel Collection from Time-Life)

Time Life’s Newest Gospel Album Inspires Fans with Traditional Gospel Sounds “Shoutin’ Down the Aisles” showcases hand-clappin’ old-school gospel hits by today’s top artists.

FAIRFAX, VA; November 13, 2009- Time Life’s newest gospel release proves that traditional gospel is back in a big way. Appropriately titled, Shoutin’ Down the Aisles, this 2-CD collection has already sold 25,000 copies since it debuted via a $500,000 direct-response television campaign three months ago. Additionally, Shoutin’ Down the Aisles will be available in retail in early 2010. The collection brings together the top traditional gospel hits from the past twenty years, many of which have never been featured together on one collection.

Bil Carpenter, author of The Gospel Music Encyclopedia and contributor to Shoutin’ Down the Aisles, says, “It’s a project that church folks can get into and really enjoy. This is the best of the best of traditional gospel music.” However, Carpenter stresses that while Shoutin’ is a traditional gospel album, big songs and big-name artists give the release mass-appeal. “It’s a CD that allows those outside of the church world to get a taste of what a down-home black gospel church service really is all about.”

Shoutin’ Down the Aisles delivers an authentic gospel church experience, with classics such as Vickie Winans’ “Long As I Got King Jesus”, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee’s “God Did It”, Lee Williams & the Spiritual QC’s “I’ve Learned to Lean” and “Born Blessed” by Jimmy Hicks and the Voices of Integrity. Other gospel luminaries such as Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, Gladys Knight, Marvin Sapp, Tamela Mann, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Candi Staton, Mary Mary, and others also appear on the album. The set also features previously out-of-print songs such as the Tri-State Mass Choir’s 1994 smash “If You Come to Him” and the Loving Sisters’ 1974 gem “He’ll Answer Prayer.”

Shoutin’ Down the Aisles is currently available via direct-response television, the Time Life website, www.timelife.com. Videos and other exclusive content surrounding the release will soon be available at www.shoutindowntheaisles.com
