Westchester County, NY – The 1st ever Westchester Jazz Festival is proud to bring such an amazing lineup on Saturday, July 7th at Croton Point Park, Croton on Hudson, New York with the national touring ensemble Jazz Attack featuring: Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, and Peter White, as well as New Yorkers Bob Baldwin, Ragan Whiteside and Lou Volpe. The festival begins at approximately 3:00pm and runs thru just through dusk (9:00pm) on the beautiful lawn overlooking the beautiful Hudson .
Festival goers get ready to experience an eclectic mix smooth jazz celebration as each guest contemporary jazz artist shares their own unique and compelling style, working together, along with an all-star keyboard player and rhythm section, to bring audiences an explosive and entertaining musical experience.
Richard Elliot’s sax brings to jazz Attack his unique and compelling grooves as only Elliot can. Since the 1980’s, Elliot has been among the top saxophonists with his easily accessible, groove-oriented style that combines elements of jazz, pop and R&B.
Trumpeter extraordinaire Rick Braun, one of contemporary jazz’s most acclaimed and innovative artists, is at the top of his game lately as a composer/arranger/producer and record label co-owner. Rick’s busy schedule, however, has not taken away from his charismatic and thoroughly entertaining live shows. His latest CD, Yours Truly, draws from his diverse musical tastes and boasts clever, engaging arrangements to rebirth tunes you know by heart on his ARTizen Music Group label, which is owned and operated by Braun and Elliot.
Other Artists included in this years lineup are Mt. Vernon’s own Ragan Whiteside, who recently won the Capital Jazz New Artist Showcase award in 2006. She’ll be playing songs from her brand new debut cd, “Class Axe”. Legendary New York Guitarist Lou Volpe, who’s recording credits run deep with Herbie Mann, Bette Midler, Less McCann and Joey DeFrancesco, will be gracing the Croton stage as well. Westchester’s Bob Baldwin will be taking a break from his Radio Consulting duties in Bermuda, Jacksonville and Atlanta , returning to NY to bring his New York-based Smooth jazz funk vibes. He will also be selling for the first time his brand new disc, The Sanctioned Bootleg, Vol. I at the Park.
The festival will also featuring local jazz artists, more to be announced, along with food vendors, arts & crafts and much more! LIMITED Tickets are $85.00 for orchestra, $65 for reserved seating, and $45 for lawn seating.
