Set For October 9 Release

Dave Koz’s “Side By Side,” featuring his all-time saxophone hero, David Sanborn, is #1 Most Added at Smooth Jazz radio this week. Although Koz and Sanborn have toured together, “Side By Side” marks their first recording together. The track, which was produced by Rick Braun, is from Koz’s forthcoming album, A New Day, which will be released on October 9.

“‘Side By Side’ is all about friendship, and leaning on your friends, even when you can’t physically lean on them – as so many of us have experienced in this pandemic,” says Dave Koz. “David recorded his parts in New York, I recorded in L.A. Yet, as you can hear, we are truly leaning on each other…that’s what friends do.”

Conceived and recorded entirely under the umbrella of COVID-19, A New Day is a deeply comforting yet forward-thinking 11-track collection (with one bonus track on the physical CD). It is available for pre-order .

Tickets are available now for Koz’s virtual album release event, which will take place on Friday, October 9, at 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT, via looped. VIP experiences, including exclusive one-on-one meet & greets, are also available. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Recording Academy’s , which helps those in the music community affected by the pandemic. Tickets and further details are available.

A New Day also features collaborations with Brian McKnight and Earth, Wind & Fire percussionist Ralph Johnson (on “Summertime in NYC”), Bob James, Marc Antoine, Meshell Ndegeocello (playing bass on the album’s only cover song, the Beatles’ “Yesterday”), Paul Jackson, Jr., Jeff Lorber, David Mann, Antwaun Stanley (of funk band Vulfpeck), Philippe Saisse and Chris “Big Dog” Davis.
