Internationally acclaimed R&B Singer & Songwriter, Syleena Johnson to release her forthcoming final solo R&B album, Legacy on Friday, August 30th
Legacy, the album will be an electrifying 16-track project, infused with sounds of R&B & classic Soul music. The album will be Syleena’s final solo album, which she dedicates to her father Blues Hall of Fame Legend, Syl Johnson, credited as one of the most sampled artists in Hip-Hop History, sampled by artists, such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Wu-Tang Clan and more. Listeners will hear a creative melting pot of blended vocals of Syleena and her father’s vocals and classic hits,- like Different Strokes, one of Hip-Hop’s most sampled tracks today. The album will be a blast of the past hearing old classics, many of which were sampled by some of Hip-Hop’s biggest artists today, blended with a new R&B edge as Syleena collaborates with her father; reminiscent of renowned Father/Daughter duo Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole, combining powerhouse vocals from the two staples in music.
A second-generation artist & daughter of Soul, R&B Soulstress, Syleena Johnson, has built notoriety as a 25-year veteran in music, not only in the genre of R&B but also Hip-Hop music. Known for her sultry voice, and powerhouse stage performances, her 8 album discography includes most notable classic hits such as “All Falls Down w/ Kanye West, “Guess What,”, “I Am Your Woman,” Another Relationship & more, which have not only garnered Syleena multiple Grammy & Award nominations but also notoriety as a renowned, international superstar and staple in music.
