R&B Singer Cashma to Release New Project “Sophisticated Mess”

Cashma is an R&B artist raised in the small town of Barnesville, GA. As the only child of her black dad and white mom, Cashma grew up seeing both sides of the world and often felt like she didn’t fit in. Seeking solace in the music of one of her biggest inspirations Sade, she gradually learnt how to be unapologetically herself and her music is a reflection of that. Moving to Atlanta at a young age, the introspective introvert has now created a space and sound all of her own.

Her new album Sophisticated Mess is the result of embracing all sides of herself. Cashma confides, “Some days I feel sophisticated and super confident; other days I feel messy, like I don’t have it all together. I wanted this project to be the embodiment of both those emotions. To not only love myself at my highs but feel myself at my lows.”

Working alongside producer Mike Kalombo Sophisticated Mess takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Silky, soulful vocals, immersive songwriting and raw, hypnotic melodies provide the foundations for the album, with Cashma showcasing her velvet vocal tone and ability to pen vulnerable R&B anthems.

Sophisticated Mess is the fourth album for the songstress and sees the artist challenging herself to be raw and vulnerable with her feelings. The intimate 11 track album released on 11-11 revolves around embracing oneself. The songstress reveals, ” I think it’s easy loving yourself when you’re having a great day, when everything is going great but what about the days when you wake up unconfident or everything isn’t going your way. I needed to find a way to embrace myself just as much on those days.” Listening to the album is like reading personal diary entries from Cashma.

She unravels stories of the high and lows, such as “Oh No Caught The Blues” which touches on the mixed emotions of being highly sensitive and feeling everything and “You Could Be My Baby” which speaks on the confidence of attracting her love interest. Her honest storytelling lyrics give us a glimpse into her emotions, creating a strong connection between both the artist and her listeners.

With a dedicated fanbase of people across the globe and over two million streams for her music thus far, Cashma is quickly becoming an artist to watch.
