Urban Music Legend Rihanna Headlines the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show
American football fans often refer to the annual Super Bowl as the greatest show on Earth due to its high-drama and extravagant halftime shows. The National Football League (NFL) has bestowed the great honor of performing at the Super Bowl halftime show on dozens of musicians over the years. Now it is urban music princess Rihanna’s time in the spotlight.
While some NFL fans look forward to finding the best NFL betting sites online, many others simply look forward to the halftime show. Tickets for the Super Bowl usually start at around $5,500 thanks to it being the grand finale of the NFL’s season, but also because spectators enjoy a 15-25 minute performance from music’s biggest stars during the halftime interval. Last year saw a spectacular, nostalgic show from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, plus guest appearances from Anderson .Paak and 50 Cent. Rihanna headlines this year’s show, and the NFL is delighted she has agreed to perform.

The 2023 Super Bowl is the first that Apple Music is sponsoring. Oliver Schuster, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Music and Beat, is also looking forward to seeing Rihanna do what she does best: wowing the crowd on the biggest stage.
“Rihanna is an incredible recording artist who is a favorite for many millions of Apple Music customers around the world. We’re excited to partner with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and the NFL to bring music and sports fans a momentous show – what an incredible artist for the inaugural Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
From Barbados to Billionaire
Rihanna’s rise to superstardom has been nothing short of spectacular. Robyn Rihanna Fenty, to give her full name, grew up in Saint Michael, Barbados, where she helped her father sell clothes on a stall in the street when she was a youngster. Rihanna did not enjoy a happy home life because her father battled alcoholism and an addiction to crack cocaine, which ultimately resulted in Rihanna’s parents divorcing.
Her passion for music was there for all to see from an early age. Rihanna formed a musical trio with two classmates in 2003 when she was only 15 years old. The group auditions with American record producer Evan Rogers, who said as soon as Rihanna entered the room, it was like the other two girls did not exist. The young Rihanna had a star’s presence even at that tender age. Rogers invited Rihanna to a solo audition where she sang renditions of “Hero” by Mariah Carey and “Emotion” by Destiny’s Child. Rogers knew he had a potential superstar on his hands, and Rihanna signed to Rogers’ and Carl Sturken’s Syndicated Rhythm Productions production company.
Rihanna has gone on to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has sold more than 250 million records and won nine Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 13 American Music Awards, and eight People’s Choice Awards, among many more. She is also an astute businesswoman and a hugely successful one at that. Rihanna co-owns cosmetics company Fenty Beauty, which generated more than $550 million in revenue in 2020. In addition, Rihanna holds a 30% stake in the Savage x Fenty lingerie line. When all is said and done, Rihanna has a net worth in excess of $1.4 billion, making her Barbados’ first billionaire. What an incredible journey.
