LOS ANGELES, July 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Adam Blackstone, known as the musical director to Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keyes, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Maroon 5, Eminem, Drake and dozens of others A-list artists, has been nominated for his first Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction for Super Bowl LII Halftime Show Starring Justin Timberlake. Blackstone’s musical direction of twelve songs, tightly woven into the Super Bowl’s halftime, was viewed by 66,000 plus fans packed into the U.S. Bank Stadium and 110 million watching on television and online. “Being nominated for an Emmy is an amazing and humbling experience. Blackstone, a Grammy nominated artist, has been a part of music in every genre from hip-hop, country, rap, R&B, gospel, rock and everything in between. He received his Grammy nomination as Musical Director/Arranger for Pharrell’s chart-topping, Happy Live, and has been a co-writer and/or producer on numerous Grammy winning and nominated songs. His breath of talents have allowed him to expand his reach into the movie making industry. He was the band leader and bassist for the Oscar nominated movie The Greatest Showman and live underscored the Oscar nominated movie Sing.

Blackstone currently serves as the Executive Producer and Musical Director for Fox’s hit show, The Four, starring, Sean Combs (P. Diddy), Fergie and Megan Trainor. Blackstone began his professional career as a musician while still attending University of the Arts. He is classically trained jazz musician who plays the bass, guitar, piano and drums.
