SHERYL LEE RALPH TO HONOR LEGANDARY SINGER/ACTIVIST DIONNE WARWICK AT
24TH ANNUAL DIVAS SIMPLY SINGING!

LOS ANGELES — One Diva! One Song! One Night to touch a million lives! Actress/Activist Sheryl Lee Ralph’s DIVA Foundation kicks off its 24th Annual HIV/AIDS benefit concert DIVAS Simply Singing with a special announcement: Sheryl Lee and friends will honor Dionne Warwick LIVE at the 24th Annual DIVAS Simply Singing! 7:30 pm, Saturday Oct 18th, 2014 at The Richardo Montalban Theatre.

Dionne Warwick is an American singer, actress and TV-show host, who became a United States Ambassador of Health. Ms. Warwick ranks among the 40 biggest hit makers of the entire rock era, based on the Billboard Hot 100 Pop Singles Charts. Dionne Warwick is second only to Aretha Franklin as the most-charted female vocalist of all time with 56 of Dionne’s singles making the Billboard Hot 100 between 1962 and 1998.

A longtime supporter of HIV/AIDS research and support, Ms. Warwick famously teamed up in 1985 with composer Burt Bacharach and longtime friends Gladys Knight, Elton John and Stevie Wonder to record the landmark song “That’s What Friends Are For,” which became a number one hit record around the world and the first recording dedicated to raising awareness and major funds (over $3 Million) for the AIDS cause in support of AMFAR, which Warwick continues to support.

It is for her unsung lifetime of AIDS awareness, support, and devotion to the cause that Sheryl Lee Ralph and The DIVA Foundation 501©3 have chosen to honor her at this year’s event, that’s what friends are for!

Created and produced by Sheryl Lee Ralph, DIVAS Simply Singing! is the longest consecutive running musical HIV/AIDS benefit in the country. DIVAS Simply Singing! is produced in conjunction with The DIVA Foundation to raise money to support HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and testing programs using the arts. D.I.V.A.S.(acronym for Divinely Inspired, Victoriously Aware) singers from all walks of the entertainment industry unite in song and entertainment to fight HIV/AIDS one song at a time.

The 24th Annual DIVAS Simply Singing! will take place Saturday, October 18, 2014 7:30pm at The Richardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood! For ticket information visit divatickets.com
