The Top #100 R&B Slow Jams #15 | The Controllers – Somebody’s Gotta Win, Somebody’s Gotta Lose

The Controllers - In Control

Man, Oh Man…..OH MAN.

Just when the team was going to lay low again and wait another 8 months (hahaha) to drop a slow jam to complete possibly one of the longest…longest unfinished countdown’s in cyberspace history for a magazine or blog, we may have made quite a few more people happy tonight in letting them & all know a new addition is being added RIGHT NOW.

Who could EVER forget or let this midnight, blue lights in the basement, monumental quiet storm pass us by???

The magnificent 4 man soul group THE CONTROLLERS are in the T.U.M.S. spotlight TONIGHT (& every night) with one of the greatest slow moving ballads of all time. Their supreme classic, “Somebody’s Gotta Win, Somebody’s Gotta Lose” literally flipped all soul music lovers minds and gravitated the group’s career to major league status back in the day.

The single may have graced Billboard’s R&B charts back in 1977 at #8, However, the passionate ballad is STILL breaking mainstream play on the likes of Facebook and other Social Media outlets across the globe. It is so easy to play this track back and appreciate the voices of Reginald McArthur, Ricky Lewis, Larry McArthur and Leonard Brown. So much so, T.U.M.S. had no choice, whatsoever, to include it in our portfolio of love music.

The masterpiece can be found off their debut album, “In Control” – released in 1977.

Go get it.

Take a seat, pull up a chair, kick up your feet, or lean on the side of a wall or something and listen to this: Our #15 ballad in the Top #100 R&B Slow Jams recognizes THE CONTROLLERS and their 1977 classic single, “Somebody’s Gotta Win, Somebody’s Gotta Lose”!!!
