Ten-time Grammy Award winning Queen of Funk Chaka Khan and Atlanta’s
own Future have been added to the line-up of the 24th annual Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic
halftime show to be themed “One Love. One Music. One Culture.” – as
announced by the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, a volunteer community
organization focused on education, empowerment and enrichment in
African-American youth that presents the game.

Chaka Khan and Future will join Doug E. Fresh – “The original human
beatbox” – who will headline and produce the halftime event, which will
also feature the award-winning Southern University marching band, dubbed
the Human Jukebox. The 100 Black Men of Atlanta will be the executive
producers of the halftime show to be choreographed by Sean Bankhead, who
has worked with Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Cheri Dennis and Miley Cyrus,
and produced by Doug E. Fresh and Bart Phillips, executive producer of
the Soul Train Awards and CEO of Sunseeker Media.

The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic
is one of the nation’s largest Historically Black Colleges and
Universities (HBCU) football games and one of the biggest recurring
sporting events in Georgia. The iconic HBCU event pits the Florida
A&M University Rattlers against the Southern University-Baton Rouge
Jaguars on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m. at the Georgia Dome.

The “One Love. One Music. One Culture.” halftime show presented by
McDonald’s will showcase the talents of the Southern University Human
Jukebox marching band, which has performed in more Super Bowls than any
other HBCU band. The high-stepping, show-stopping group will set the
stage for performances by Chaka Khan, Future and Doug E. Fresh who will
bring the past and present of Hip Hop and R&B music to life for HBCU
students, fans and alumni in attendance.

Chaka Khan, known as the Queen of Funk, is a 10-time Grammy Award
winning singer-songwriter whose musical career and influence spans more
than three decades. Originally from Chicago, Ill., her signature hits
showcasing her powerful voice include “Tell Me Something Good,” “Sweet
Thing,” “Ain’t Nobody,” “I’m Every Woman,” “I Feel For You” and “Through
the Fire.”

Atlanta-based rapper Future, known as a master of the mixtape,
recently signed a record deal with Epic Records and has strong family
ties to Atlanta’s famed Dungeon Family. His cousin Rico Wade of the
Dungeon Family has mentored him throughout the last few years resulting
in one of Future’s biggest commercial hits “Tony Montana,” based the
protagonist of the 1983 film Scarface, which was released in late 2011.
In addition to working with the likes of Ludacris, Diddy, T.I. and
Drake, Future’s singles “Magic,” “Same Damn Time” and “Turn on the
Lights” have all landed within the top 25 on Billboard magazine’s Top
R&B/Hip Hop songs chart.

$50, the affordable ticket prices ensure fans can enjoy the game and
musical entertainment with money left over for food and merchandise.

The first-ever Atlanta Football Classic Day Party will be hosted on
the Club Level of the Georgia Dome kicking off at 2:30 p.m. and running
throughout the game with DJs on the concourse spinning favorite old
school and new school beats. Fans can attend the Day Party by purchasing
a Club Level ticket (prices start at $30).

Celebrating more than two decades of community and tradition, the
Atlanta Football Classic offers a weekend filled with exciting and
action-packed activities for everyone from the legendary Parade of
Excellence presented by Kia, and the pre-game Fan Fest to the 100
Robotics Showcase presented by Georgia Power and McDonald’s halftime
show. This annual event is the 100 Black Men of Atlanta’s largest
fundraiser for its mentoring, academic support and scholarship program,
Project Success.

The Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic will be telecast live nationwide on NBC Sports.

First organized by the 100 Black Men of Atlanta in 1989, the Back of
America Atlanta Football Classic has evolved into the second largest
recurring college sporting event in Georgia. Culminating in a sold-out
college football game between rival teams, complete with a full marching

million during the past six years to fund the organization’s
post-secondary preparation and tuition assistance program for at-risk
youth, Project Success, and almost $6 million in contributions for the
participating universities.
