Thanks, first of all, to all you hard and serious music lovers that kept slamming us with emails asking about ‘when are we going to drop the next selection’ or ‘it has been 2 years, wow, c’mon now’…and other statements of that matter.
Well, the answer is quite easy.
The POWER of the slow jam LASTS FOREVER. Why rush it? We intended for the 100 songs to be an everlasting reminder of how great many of these tracks was. How long it kept its’ staying power in your minds, heart and soul. And how much of it makes a massive lasting impression on those in relationships. In the hunt for one, or for the majestic take of 2 people seeking companionship. However – Keep in mind: A slow jam DOESN’T have to be about two people falling in love and matrimony. It could also be about Family or loving your child…your loved one.
As in the case of the next selection:
Our #18th pick is nothing short but a classic track from one of yesterday’s premier singers: Cheryl Pepsii Riley.
“Thanks For My Child” is a classic slow ballad from 1988, written by R&B’s solid, old school group Full Force (source: wikipedia). The single became a monumental hit for Ms. Riley and it hit #1 on Billboard’s R&B Charts back then, as well as peaked on other charts. The single can be found off Cheryl’s debut album, “Me, Myself & I”.
Take a listen: Our #18th pick goes out to all who are in love with the aspect of parenthood and family. It’s Cheryl Pepsii Riley and “Thanks For My Child”!
