Recording Artist Kevin Michael Releases “Covers For You” | Avail Now

Kevin was signed with Downtown Records, an imprint of Atlantic/WEA, from 2006 – 2008. In the fall of ’07, with the help of such artists as Wyclef Jean, Q-Tip and Lupe Fiasco, Kevin released his first international album, simply titled ‘Kevin Michael‘.  While with Atlantic, he toured worldwide, opening for Lily Allen, Maroon 5 and John Legend.

Since his days with Atlantic, Kevin began re-analyzing the music industry and redefining his sound.  Kevin explains, “I hold my first album very close to my heart.  I was directly involved with all the songs on it, which is rare for a new artist.  It blows me away when people still say they are listening to it.  But that was almost four years ago.  So much has changed for me since that time, especially my musical and visual tastes.”

‘Covers For You’ features covers of Lil Wayne, Kelly Rowland, Bruno Mars, Adele, Lady Gaga and more.  It also includes an original song entitled ‘The Answer’ that was featured on ‘International’, an album Kevin released overseas in early 2011.

Along with the release of the ‘Covers For You’ album, Kevin has recently been in Miami recording vocals to house and electro-pop songs.  “This is where I want to be right now, connected to club culture.  If you look at Billboard Hot 100, there are prominent DJ’s featured everywhere.  I have to stay true to who I am as an artist, but also reflect what my peers are listening to.”
