The Top 100 R&B Slow Jams #28 | Zapp feat. Roger – Computer Love

Zapp - The New Zapp IV U

Welcome back as T.U.M.S. keeps our long lasting list of slow jams coming right at you!

As you would know by now, we take our TIME when we present some of our favorite, best R&B slow jams from over the years. And we THANK YOU for your comments, suggestions and feedback regarding these treasures! No Doubt, we KNOW you are diggin’ it. Ever since we started this collectible countdown last year!

And no collection can stand the test of time without a look back at this master slow jam classic from none other than the funk king himself – Roger and his R&B group, Zapp.

Roger came with his trademark ‘talkbox’ or vocoder and laced an all out, replayable, heart drenching memory for all boomboxes, tape recorders, Sansui stereo systems and Pioneer car cassette decks in the harmonious, “Computer Love”. This song also featured the vocals of R&B singers Shirley Murdock and the great Charlie Wilson from The Gap Band. It climbed up Billboard’s charts into the Top 10 back in 1985 and till this day, still receives heavy rotation on many, if not most R&B slow jam radio segments from all over the world. The single can be found off their ‘Greatest Hits’ LP, although originally released on album, “The New Zapp IV U”. The track was and still is relevant to this day and quite possibly was ahead of its time in regards to digital sounds and programming in R&B music

This was an easy one: The Team at T.U.M.S. brings it to you one more time with our #28 selection of the ongoing Top 100 R&B Slow Jams. It’s Zapp & Roger with “Computer Love”!
