Soulful Singer/Songwriter Eric Roberson is earning his breakthrough one show at a time. The New Jersey native who is known in music circles as The King of Independent Soul,
regularly logs 200+ performances a year and after 15 years, the music
industry is finally starting to notice. Having released seven albums-
six of them independently, and writing hit songs for a stellar list of
artists like Jill Scott, Will Smith, Musiq Soulchild, 112, and Charlie Wilson,
Roberson’s talents have just begun to be acknowledged by The Recording
Academy. This year “Still” from his critically acclaimed Music Fan First release (Blue Erro Soul, 2009) receives a Grammy® nomination in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance
category. This year’s unanticipated honor comes on the heels of
Roberson’s first career nomination last year for “A Tale Of
Two(featuring Ben O’Neill and Michelle Thompson).”

“Last year’s nomination introduced me to The Recording Academy in a
more meaningful way. We put so much into this album I’m so appreciative
that my fans have kept it alive, yet we never anticipated receiving this
blessing two years running. It’s extraordinary when your work is
recognized by your peers.”
