3, 2010 (Nashville, TN) – From brand-new artists to legendary stars,
EMI Gospel celebrates 7 Grammy nominations this year spanning the scope
of their popular roster, the most for any Gospel label.

 

Long-time legends and multiple-Grammy nominees, Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Karen Clark Sheard each receive a nomination in the Best Traditional Gospel Album category. Armstrong is nominated for her early 2010 release, THE EXPERIENCE, which was released to critical and consumer acclaim. Sheard is recognized for her recent ALL IN ONE album, which was also her debut CD on her own imprint Karew Records.

 

VaShawn Mitchell, forever JONES and Aaron Sledge earn their first-ever Grammy nominations. Mitchell is recognized for his extraordinary CD TRIUMPHANT. The album is nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album and the amazing single “Nobody Greater” is nominated for Best Gospel Performance.

 

Breakout family band forever JONES, are also nominated in the same categories for their debut project, GET READY. forever JONES, a true family band, has been making a huge impact with their Best Gospel Performance nominated #1 single, “He Wants It All.”  Aaron Sledge, best known for blending Gospel, R&B and pop grooves also marks his first nomination receiving a nod for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album for his self-titled debut release.
