The Rising Star Romain Virgo’s debut album features 15 new tracks. The talented singer/songwriter penned all of the songs featured on this album and worked with world renowned producers Donovan Germain of Penthouse Recordings, Dawin and Omar Brown For Vikings Productions, Shane C. Brown For Juke Boxx Productions and Dayan “Pete” Foster For Pete Music. Romain Virgo represents a breath of fresh air to Reggae music. Providing smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics; every word that comes out of the passionate singer touches the soul.
The opening track is Romain’s thought provoking hit song “Mi Cann Sleep,” he sings about the constant senseless violence that goes on in his homeland of Jamaica that keeps him up at night. Romain has surprised his peers and elders alike with his strong vocals and insightful subject matter. “Who Feels It Knows It” features Reggae songstress Etana. The song is a homage to all hard working people that are struggling to feed their families and take care of their responsibilities in life. Another hit featured on the album that gained Romain notoriety is “Love Doctor.” Romain romances the ladies on this track, making them aware that he has his PHD in curing an ailing heart. Breaking up is hard to do and going back to the one you love is even harder as Romain describes on the melodic song “Should I Call Her.” The romantic up-tempo track “Wanna Go Home (Rain Is Falling)” Romain expresses his anxiousness to get home to his love that’s waiting for him. On the memorable “Live Mi Life” track Romain voices what we all can relate to; the feeling of having a black cloud shadowing your every step while you try to overcome the obstacles of life. Romain displays his versatility stepping out of the lovers rock vibe and naturally transitioning to Dancehall with the track “Customer Care.” From the first note to the closing track “I’m Doing Good” featuring the 2008 Digicell Rising Star Cameal Davis; Romain Virgo bears his heart and soul on every song and shows the world that this powerful singer has arrived and is here to stay.
Born Romain Virgo on January 24, 1990; growing up in the small Stepney District in the parish of St. Ann, about a mile from Bob Marley’s Nine Mile birthplace. He was raised in a Christian household. Romain was the lead singer for his church choir and by his mid-teens he became the leader of Aabuthnott high school choir as well. In 2007 at age 17 Romain made history becoming the youngest person to win Digicel Rising Stars competition. The future is bright for this positive gifted singer and he says it best: “I don’t see nothing wrong in singing something positive, because it will just help to change this whole negative vibe.”
