Charity Compilation to Feature Original Songs from Sony Music Artists Including Shakira, R. Kelly, Wyclef, Pitbull and many more collaborating with African writers, producers and performers
NEW YORK, May 24/PRNewswire/ — Epic Records to release Listen Up! The Official 2010FIFA World Cup™ Album on June 1st. The 2010 album features original songs from today’s hottest artists collaborating with African writers, producers and performers in an effort to showcase the vast talents within Africa. Proceeds from the album will benefit FIFA’s “20 Centers for 2010” initiative, whose aim is to achieve positive social change through football by building twenty Football for Hope centers for public health, education and football across Africa, and other African charities.
The compilation consists of 12 tracks including the Official Song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) written and co-produced by Shakira and Freshlyground. It will also include the Official Anthem, Sign of A Victory by R. Kelly and Soweto Spiritual Singers, and the Official Mascot song, Game On by Pitbull, TKZee and Dario G.

Jive Recording artist R. Kelly will perform Sign of a Victory with the Soweto Spiritual Singers at the FIFA World Cup™ Opening Ceremony on June 11 in Johannesburg Soccer City Stadium. Epic recording artist Shakira will perform Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) together with South African artist Freshlyground at the Closing Ceremony before the FIFA World Cup™Final on July 11, also in Johannesburg Soccer City Stadium. All proceeds from the songs will benefit FIFA’s Official Campaign of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ “20 Centers for 2010.”
In addition to her performance at the final match, Shakira will be one of the headline performers at the official FIFA World Cup™ Kick-off Celebration Concert on June 10, broadcast from Orlando Stadium in Soweto/Johannesburg South Africa.
