                                41st NAACP Image Awards air live Friday, February 26 on FOX 


January 6, 2010, Cleveland, OH– Heads Up International, a division of Concord Music Group, today announced that Zap Mama’s ReCreation has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the category of Outstanding World Music Album at the 41st NAACP Image Awards, which will broadcast live Friday, February 26 on FOX.


ReCreation, Zap Mama’s second release for Heads Up, was released on May 26, 2009. In addition to a rhythm section rooted in a rich Brazilian vibe, ReCreation also boasts a guest list of high-profile vocalists including Bilal, G. Love, actor Vincent Cassel and several others. The acclaimed multicultural group is led by Afropean vocalist and songwriter Marie Daulne.


In addition to her role as an artist and performer, Daulne to devotes much of her time and energy in working to protect human rights and fight global poverty with organizations such as Amnesty International, Médicins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), CARE and the United Nations.


Presented annually, the NAACP Image Awards are the nation’s premier event celebrating the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in the arts. The NAACP Image Awards are a star-studded salute to the best in entertainment. Honorees, presenters and performers have included many of the major celebrities in America as well as international political figures and dignitaries.
