Teddy Pendergrass Dies…
We are saddened to hear that legendary R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass has passed away Wednesday evening at the age of 59. It was due to complications stemming from Colon Cancer.
Mr. Pendergrass was one of the finest singers of our time. From a rising career in the 70’s with R&B group Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes to a soul stirring solo debut that magnified the arena of slow ballads & treasures such as “Love T.K.O.”, “Close The Door” & various others. He attracted a mainstream host of Ladies to many of his concerts throughout the years, winning an image of being the “Ladies” man & showcasing a strong vocal presence in his music career. Although he was paralyzed from a car accident back in 1982, Mr. Pendergrass continued on with his singing career & also appeared in concert at various venues. A DVD of one of his Live performances since then was released & he was slated to work on an upcoming musical. The Family here at T.U.M.S. expresses our sympathy & Prayers to his Family, Friends & Loved Ones.
