Ted Winn Nominated for 3 Gospel Choice Awards

SINGER TED WINN
NOMINATED FOR 3 GOSPEL CHOICE AWARDS

The Atlanta gospel music community has announced the nominees for the
15th annual Gospel Choice Awards to be held Monday, September 28, 2009
at the Georgia World Congress Center (Thomas Murphy Ballroom) located
at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30313.

The program has saluted the best of Atlanta’s gospel community ranging
from the legendary Candi Staton to up-and-coming artists such as Holy
Hip Hop group Generation 42. This year’s program will be hosted by
husband and wife acting team, Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe of
the “Soul Food” TV series.

The artist winning the most nominations is singer Ted Winn of Ted &
Sheri fame. The singer/songwriter’s radio smash “God Believes in
You” (Top 20 on Billboard magazine’s Recurrent chart) is up for “Song
of the Year” and has him squaring off against Bishop Paul Morton’s
“Cry Your Last Tear” and Ann Nesby’s “I Found A Place” among others.
From there, Winn competes in the Best Male Singer category along side
Deitrick Haddon, Darwin Hobbs and Canton Jones. Winn, whose debut solo
CD “Balance” will be released on Shanachie Entertainment on September
29th, is even up for an award as Best New Artist of the year. Fans can
vote for Winn and others online at www.thegospelchoiceawards.com or by
visiting Atlanta-area Kroger grocery stores where they can also cast
their votes.

In 2001, Ted & Sheri, burst on the gospel music scene with their smash
rendition of “Come Ye Disconsolate.” The riveting ballad won them
three Stellar Award nominations and two wins. They followed up with
the #3 smash “Celebrate” in 2005. Now, Ted & Sheri have taken a
temporary break from recording as a unit to launch solo careers.
Winn’s highly-anticipated solo CD debut “Balance” features cameos by
gospel great Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Jonathan Butler, Dewayne Woods
and Myron Butler of Levi. The second single “The Lifter” was just
released to gospel radio stations and the CD will be in stores
everywhere Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Keep in touch with Ted Winn at www.myspace.com/teddwin
