Grammy© ‘Best New Artist’ Nominee Ledisi Performs At MusiCares Gala Honoring the Great Aretha Franklin And Brings Her “Lost and Found” Tour Through Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and New York in February!
It’s a terrific time for GRAMMY© nominated ‘Best New Artist’ Ledisi. The rising soul star is confirmed to honor another powerhouse voice at this year’s MusiCares Person of the Year gala recognizing Aretha Franklin on February 8th. Following that show and the GRAMMY© Awards, she’ll return to the east coast with a full band for shows in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C.and New York City.
True to the title of her two-time GRAMMY© nominated album Ledisi was LOST AND FOUND (Verve Forecast). The soul phenomenon came close to quitting show biz after years of hard work and rejection. Luckily, she persevered and is now nominated for the GRAMMY’s© ‘Best New Artist’ and ‘Best R&B Album’ for her major label debut. Ledisi says the following of her overdue recognition: “I feel vindicated because every decision I made has been worth it.” (MTV.com, 12.12.07)
