Riverbend Festival kicks off on June 8th, the following artist performs on various dates, time and stage:

Karl Denson Trio, Possibly the “coolest man on the planet” brings his funky soulful sax to traditional jazz structures with danceable groovin’ results.

Papa Grows Funk, this ban is a favorite from last year’s “Bessie Smith Strut” – comes back from New Orleans by popular demand in its own headline slot.

Deacon Blues & the Holy Smoke Band, this band is headed by Dr. Clark Eldridge White (Deacon Blues) This is a blues show you will not want to miss with band members featuring Parliament/Funkadelic and the S.O.S. Band.

Monday, June 11, 5:15pm – Bessie Smith Hall

The Bar-Kays, Along with Isaac Hayes, these legendary Stax musicians put Memphis on the musical map – they’ve never gone away.
