Bassist/composer/songstress Esperanza Spalding was a featured performer at last night’s 84th Annual Academy Awards. Accompanied by the Southern California’s Children’s Chorus, she sang a stirring rendition of “What a Wonderful World” as a tribute to great movie icons who have passed away over the past year, including Elizabeth Taylor, Sidney Lumet, and <b>Jane Russell, as well as “Bodyguard” superstar Whitney Houston and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
