Flautist Brian Jackson Releases New Single “The Bottle” feat. Omar | LISTEN!
Brian Jackson
The Bottle (Ft. Omar)
(Produced by Masters At Work)
Take Brian Jackson and Gil Scott-Heron’s iconic track “The Bottle”, add a sublime vocal performance from UK soul legend Omar, and put it in the hands of house music pioneers Masters At Work—and you get a version that’s both timeless and urgent, filled with joy, fire, and social consciousness, and built for the dancefloor.
Driven by Masters At Work’s signature attention to detail, and elevated by the calibre of the musicians and vocalists involved, this reimagining of “The Bottle” evolved into something truly epic. In fact, the final mix turned out too long to fit on Brian Jackson’s upcoming 3LP album, Now More Than Ever—but everyone agreed: fans had to hear it in its full glory.
Some serious music is on the horizon with Masters At Work, Brian Jackson, and a heavyweight line-up including Moodymann, Omar, Rich Medina, Rahsaan Patterson, Josh Milan and J Ivy reworking Jackson-produced Gil Scott-Heron classics like The Bottle, Lady Day & John Coltrane, and New York City. Full tracklists still under wraps… but you’ll want to be first in line.
And here’s your first shot at the front of the queue:
ALIM Music #10 – The Revolution Will Not Be Televised reimagined by Black Thought, with MAW production and Brian Jackson on jazz flute. Updated lyrics hit today’s struggles head-on, gaslighting, news propaganda to social media theatre and modern-day consumerism.
ALIM Music #11 – Is That Jazz? featuring the unmistakable voice of Rahsaan Patterson and MAW’s immaculate production — a fresh tribute to Gil Scott-Heron’s 1981 original.
Both cuts drop as strictly limited, hand-stamped 7” 45s — available only via the BBE store and site right now. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
More news on the full project is coming your way soon. Consider this your inside track — get in before the rush.
