Queen Omega and Naya Rockers Deliver Roots Reggae Power in “Words of Wisdom” – A Spiritual Anthem for the Times
“Words of Wisdom” is a Cross-Continental Collaboration Rooted in Rastafarian Teachings and Gospel Music.
July 2025 – International reggae luminary Queen Omega joins forces with producer Nathan Sabanayagam and the Naya Rockers for their stirring new single, “Words of Wisdom,” releasing worldwide via Floki Studios and Naya Records. A spiritually charged collaboration born out of reverence for Rastafarian and Gospel values, the track calls listeners toward mindful speech, inner strength, and collective upliftment.
It is the fifth single release for Naya Records’ highly anticipated “Higher Education” album. The majority of the album’s proceeds will help fund music education programs at the Alpha School of Music in Kingston, Jamaica.
A standout from the forthcoming Higher Education album, “Words of Wisdom” blends powerful lyrics with a global production journey. The riddim foundation – laid down by reggae veterans Nathan Sabanayagam (drums), Nate Edgar (bass), Andy Bassford (guitar), and Cameron Greenlee (organ) – was recorded at Floki Studios in Haganesvik, Iceland, in November 2022. Queen Omega’s vocals were later captured at Acoustic Live Studios in Trinidad in early 2023, with final overdubs and mixing completed at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica.
“Working with Queen Omega is always a refreshing experience,” says producer Nathan Sabanayagam. “In a male-dominated music landscape, her sensitive yet powerful voice brings much-needed balance. Her message elevates the project and continues the tradition of conscious reggae storytelling that defines Naya Records.”
With lyrical affirmations that urge listeners to choose their words wisely, Queen Omega brings depth and dignity to a riddim steeped in traditional roots reggae. The message: positive words can manifest abundance, while negative speech can lead to destruction – a mantra that anchors the track in both spiritual and real-world wisdom.
The song also features contributions from reggae royalty Earl “Chinna” Smith on guitar and Stephen Stewart on organ, piano, and clavinet, bringing decades of experience and soul to the mix. “These are the masters,” adds Sabanayagam, “and they’ve been mentors throughout my journey. This track is as much a tribute to them as it is a showcase of Queen Omega’s brilliance.”
“Words of Wisdom” is more than just a song – it’s part of an educational, collaborative experiment that spans cultures, continents, and generations. Each riddim on Higher Education was created with care, then sent to artists who resonated with the sound and message, resulting in a body of work that’s diverse yet unified.
