Sadiki Uplifts With Brand New Single “Queen of the Nile”

Kingston State of Mind (somewhere in the world): September 4, 2024 – Multi-talented Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, and producer Sadiki will release his brand new single “Queen of the Nile” on September 6, 2024, via his Skinny Bwoy Records imprint.

A Sadiki-produced re-licked version of Bunny Lee’s “Baddest” riddim, which originally featured Johnny Clarke’s “Hold On,” serves as the backing track for “Queen of the Nile.” The Baddest riddim was later redone for Half Pint’s monster hit “Hold On,” then used again as the musical portion of Sizzla’s “Words of Divine,” produced by Bobby Digital. Sadiki, with help from guitarist Mitchum “Khan” Chin (Buju Banton, Sizzla) and Tru The Saxophonist, re-licks the track with an updated sound that still manages to maintain the essence of classic iterations.

“Queen of the Nile” comes on the heels of “Cornerstone” (Knowledge Records), released earlier this year. Unlike “Cornerstone,” which has a rootsy feel and a warning message, “Queen of the Nile” is a love song reminiscent of Tarrus Riley’s “She’s Royal.” It sees Sadiki pursuing and uplifting Queens from the Motherland. “The chorus and a few lines were written more than 20 years ago,” said Sadiki, “but in 2022, I found the song on an old 4-track cassette tape and decided to finish it up.” “The world or society has made it so that men have become wary of pursuing women. We have to strike a balance where as a man, being attracted to a woman and pursuing her doesn’t equate to being creepy or thirsty.” He further states, “In reality, it’s natural. God intended us to attract. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that men should be stalking women or violating them, but in my view, there’s nothing wrong with an approach that respects boundaries.”

Radio and Club disc jocks were recently serviced with “Queen of the Nile”. So far it has amassed support in Africa – Roots 97.1 FM (Nigeria), Vybez Radio/KBC Radio (Kenya), Radio Africa Online (Congo), Jamaica – Newstalk 93FM, USA – KBOO 90.7FM, WEAA 88.9FM, WPFW 89.3FM, WUSB 90.1FM, More Fire Show, Flava Radio, Belize – More 99.5FM, UK – Chawaaa Radio and UK Roots FM – 95.4FM, Mi-Soul Radio. Jessie Irie of WUSB 90.1FM’s Rockin’ Iration said, “…Queen of the Nile puts a modern twist on a classic rub-a-dub riddim that makes you want to bubble with your lady. We have been missing music like this in recent times. This one is bound to be a hit. Boom Chune!!!”

“Queen of the Nile” will be available on September 6, 2024 on all leading digital retailers.
