Singer Charles Hammond Jr. to Release New EP, “Hello, My Name Is…” | Coming in 2012

Look out for the new Charles Hammond Jr. Release – “Hello, My Name Is…” (EP)

Scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2012, the debut EP from singer/songwriter Charles Hammond Jr. simply titled, “Hello, My Name Is…”
will serve as a musically diverse, yet cohesive introduction to an
artist who is just beginning to spread his wings both musically and
personally. Since early childhood, Charles has known that music would
always play a major part in his life. It is because of this awareness,
hard work, perseverance, and faith in God, that he has been afforded a
variety of professional opportunities, a list that continues to grow
each year.

He
has been a featured artist and has served as a backup vocalist on
several recording projects for a variety of local (Midwest) and
nationally renowned artists within the musical genres of jazz, hip-hop,
soul/r&b, pop, gospel, classical, and more. Charles has also had the
opportunity to perform for and with some very influential figures in
entertainment, namely actress Ruby Dee, actors Ben Vereen and Richard
Roundtree, as well as with blues legend Buddy Guy, just to name a few.

In
addition to his beginnings at Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in
Bolingbrook, Illinois (his home church), Charles’ musical versatility
and development as a vocalist and live performer came also as a result
of his involvement with a variety of musical ensembles at Columbia
College Chicago (where he majored in vocal performance and music
business).  As Charles continues to build upon his vast performance
experience, honing his skills at a number of venues nationwide, this is
just the beginning…

“Hello, My Name Is…”
is just a sample of what’s to come from Charles Hammond Jr.  Dabbling
within the musical genres of soul/r&b, jazz, hip-hop, electronic,
funk, and rock, this project not only reflects the already diverse
musical tastes of the artist himself, but makes room for Charles to
further explore the limitless potential of his artistry.  “Hello, My Name Is…”
