We’ve all heard the phrase ” the battle is not yours” before, sometimes even taking that phrase for granted..2020 has put us all to the test. Whether you’re saved, unsaved, rich or poor, we all have one thing in common – A plague that’s sweeping our land and yet, the word of God spoke of these times as they unfold in front of our very eyes..The Word also declares that for the battle and others is not yours..We believe God’s glory and saving grace is applied keep on leaning.
When one listens to his lyrics and feels the spirit which encompasses Lee Walker, it’s easy to see that Walker is indeed anointed. With musical talent demonstrated by the age of 6, this now Virginia native, certified to musical audiences that he was extraordinarily gifted. By the age of nine, his improvisational gifts were unmatched by area youth. By the opinions and evaluations of many, his course was set. He would be an immeasurable asset to the gospel music industry.
For the next eleven years, Walker toured with the Echoes of Glory Singers of Darling-ton Heights, VA. Faithful to the call of local ministry, a passion ignited deep within Walker for ‘expanded’ territories and new heights in gospel music. In November of 1991, Walker became a member of the legendary Willis Pittman and the Burden Lifters. While touring the country nationally, Walker had the opportunity to network with some of gospel music’s icons, such as the legendary and late Willie Neal Johnson & The Gospel Keynotes and Robert Blair & The Violinaires. While keeping close connection with his musical mentor
Willis Pittman, Walker established relationships with other musical icons like Luther Barnes, who he later credits for instilling the cornerstones of songwriting with feeling and passion. Appreciative for the opportunity to offer God praise, worship and honor nationally, for Walker, a yearning remained for more. While lying on a hospital bed in 2000, Walker listened to the faith within and answered God’s kingdom challenge to begin Lee Walker and Spirit. Today, Lee Walker and Spirit, comprised of Walker’s brothers and cousins, have successfully recorded the “Storm Can’t Last Always” and “Spirit Live”. After touring much of the eastern United States, Lee Walker and Spirit released their fifth single release entitled, “Climbing the Ladder”, which delivers a series of passionate gospel performances celebrating and sharing the glory of God’s Kingdom.
With their smooth but powerful harmonies, Lee Walker and Spirit are certain to be heard nationally across radio stations and seen performing on national platforms, identical to their legendary predecessors. Their faithful and dedicated service to the Lord and Savior Jesus will certainly catapult this instrument of praise and worship to heights unknown.
