San Francisco, CA – C.C. aka Cornell Carter is releasing his third full-length album, In The Moment, on January 15th 2016, a collection of 13 genre-diverse tracks spanning smooth R&B, hip-shaking funk, and heart-piercing soul numbers. This new album, two years in the making, is a mix of the past and present, solid classics and contemporary chart-toppers. The album as a whole demonstrates C.C.’s diversity as both a vocalist and a master of musical interpretation and performance. His vocal delivery shows an impressive range; sometimes smooth, sometimes funky, yet always engaging and infectious.

C.C. has had many once in a lifetime musical experiences to draw from, but two of the highest points of his career so far has been sharing the stage as an opening act for the late great Godfather of Soul James Brown and the legendary Ray Charles. In addition to his various headline performances, C.C. has also opened for other household name brand artists such as: The Whispers, The Temptations, Natalie Cole, and Kool and The Gang, among many other renowned world-class musicians and artists.

Throughout the years C.C. has appeared on many albums, and he continues to be one of the most in-demand session vocalists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Recently C.C. was honored to be asked by world-renowned, Multi-Platinum Guitarist Carlos Santana to provide background vocals on two tracks that will appear on Santana IV, a reunion album which is due for release in 2016. His smooth delivery has made him a go-to background vocalist for Tarpan Studios, appearing on a few tracks of Grammy and Emmy Award winning Producer Narada Michael Walden’s new album EVOLUTION, and on Jennifer Saran’s new albums Merry Christmas, You Are Loved and the yet to be released Walk With Me.

C.C. has been gracing stages and entertaining thousands of fans with his signature sound around the world for many years. He is a front man extraordinaire known for his dynamic vocal skills, phenomenal stage presence, and high-powered audience engagement. His strong love for music developed when he was a young man growing up in a San Francisco home chock full of Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, and Gospel, which has driven C.C. to create a musical gumbo made up of ingredients from each of these strong influences.

A standout track from In The Moment is Together, which started out as a simple conversation with Narada Michael Walden that immediately led into an impromptu Pop tune, quickly and magically creating this catchy, radio-friendly song. Further upping the fun-level is Bobblehead, the album’s first single releasing on December 28th 2015, a funky track honoring all things playful and silly. Don’t be surprised, one day you could hear this track at major sports events across the nation. Taking things to another level is Lady of My Dreams, an R&B ballad showcasing C.C.’s trademark smooth vocal stylings. A true classic, C.C. wrote the track when he was much younger, but its lasting power remains. Closing out the album is a well-produced cover of The Commodore’s Zoom. C.C. explains, “I always wanted to do this song because it totally allows you to believe that you can fly to anywhere you want to go!”

C.C. co-wrote and produced his highly-anticipated forthcoming debut release In the Moment with his friend and co-producer Kirk “KC” Crumpler, who has produced award-winning artists such as Lenny Williams, Michael Cooper, Confunkshun, Bobby Brown and Ralph Tresvant. C.C. performs all lead and background vocals.

Describing his album, C.C. explains, “The vision for this project is strictly to help bridge the gap between the old school and the new school while bringing ‘Feel Good Music’ back to the forefront in Pop music. I have always appreciated musicians of all styles, past and present, and I am motivated to inspire all who have a love for real music.” Honoring his promise to finish the album to his close friend Grady Wilkins, longtime musical director for The Whispers, C.C. has dedicated his efforts to him.

C.C. loves to share his talents with aspiring artists as well as veteran performers and has established his own production company, CDC Productions, which is geared toward assisting these artists to follow their dreams while also teaching them it takes time and dedication to reach their goals. He has been involved with many charities and non-profits over the past few years. His hope is to continue to uplift and engage people with his voice, music, and efforts.
