NEW YORK – The Jazz Journalists Association today announced winners of 2014 JJA Jazz Awards in 32 categories of musical achievement. Herbie Hancock — the man behind International Jazz Day (April 30) as UNESCO Ambassador for Intercultural Dialog and Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz – is being honored for his Lifetime Achievement in Jazz. Saxophonist Wayne Shorter, Hancock’s frequent collaborator, has been voted Musician of the Year.

SRI Records has acquired the exclusive rights to the recordings of Jackie Wilson, early Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and the early recordings by Ike & Tina Turner.

Los Angeles, CA, April 2014 –(– SRI Records is pleased to announce that the label has acquired the exclusive rights, through a representative of Jackie Wilson’s estate, to release all of Wilson’s original recordings on SRI Records. In addition the label has also been granted the rights to all of the early Ike & Tina Turner recordings, a wonderful lost Marvin Gaye album and the Bob Marley catalog.
