New York based Jazz vocalist Rajdulari is the kind of artist to take your breath away. From her smooth, mesmerizing Jazz vocals to her stunning appearance, it’s hard not to be affected by her. Taking Ella Fitzgerald’s clear vocal tone, Jill Scott’s spunk and Chaka’s Funk, it is also Rajdulari’s deep thoughtful lyrics that set her apart from her contemporaries.
Journey of a Woman is Rajdulari’s follow up to 2011’s Honey Wine and represents her second step in her #JOURNEYTOTHEGRAMMYS. Featuring some of New York’s finest musicians, the album sees Rajdulari explore the themes of love, sexuality and female empowerment to evoke the reality of the modern woman’s
experience. Soulful, sultry and emotionally effecting, Journey of a Woman promises to be just that; a journey into and an exploration of womanhood in all its glory.
Featuring 10 brand new songs, including Natural and the new single, Journey of a Woman, Rajdulari’s sophomore album promises to be an empowering and uplifting listen.
Her engaging and buoyant voice vibrates with a clear and honest joyfulness; no doubt the result of her choral upbringing in the church. Although her family relocated often, she has always found a home in music.
Since her first gig at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge aged 17, Rajdulari has gone on to share a stage with the renowned Bobby McFerrin, finding performing to be a sensation she cannot abandon or ignore. For Rajdulari singing is a healing and soothing activity. Her ability to share uplifting messages of confidence, empowerment, love, and hope – through song – is the most gratifying gift she can exchange.
